Why Centennial?

Centennial means to celebrate 100 years and this first year of our Symposium we are focusing on 1730 to 1830 as our 100 years of celebration. Let's do those 100 years proud!

Why Brandenburg, KY?

Simply? The Meade County Agriculture Extension Office was offered free for us to use! Kay Dodge has been volunteering there forever and while everyone that works in that building will be at the Meade County Fair, we have been granted use of the building that weekend. We took that as our "yes" to finally make this event a reality. Thank you, Kay!

Our Goals

All of us that are working behind the scenes have been reenactors and friends for years. We came from the 19th century grew to the 18th century, then foraged our own paths in different directions but we always ended up back working on various projects together. When we started reenacting and researching history, there was no internet. You had to know someone to get behind the scenes of a museum or be fortunate enough to find small museums that had great archives and artifacts that they were willing to share. Today, we are working to share a collective knowledge that you can't read in books, or on the internet. Learned Knowledge being SHARED is a unique opportunity and we plan for this symposium to fulfill.
